The Leader Changes

At the end of March 2008, there will be a reformation in Bina Swadaya. On March 7, 2008, on the sideline of Bambang Ismawan’s 70th birthday, he signed a letter of handover of the Foundation of Bina Swadaya’s Board. The chairman will be replaced by Nico Krisnanto, who in the last several years occupied in the Yayasan Bina Swadaya’s board. Furthermore, Bambang Ismawan will become chairman of the Foundation of  Bina Swadaya’s Advisory Board. Bambang Ismawan dedicated his life, commitments and works with  Bina Swadaya. At least, 44 years of his age used to develop Bina Swadaya becomes a community empowerment agency.

Unlike Bambang Ismawan who has committed to work on empowerment since started his career, Nico Krisnanto has different stories. He started his career as an entrepreneur and then interested in community empowerment. His interest urged him to work and involve with Bina Swadaya and resulted many works. Bambang Ismawan has been success become chairman of Bina Swadaya over 40 years due to his leadership and fellowship spirit of Bina Swadaya’s employees and activities. These two principles formed a synergy to establish and develop Bina Swadaya until it appears today.

On the other hand, commitment and totality toward community empowerment caused Bina Swadaya’s employees and activities standstill working on community empowerment. The new board will be responsible to struggle in coping with many problems hit community empowerment efforts.
